Goya's Disasters of War ... obviously ... but so much more in this stunning exhibition of etchings by Marcelle Hanselaar (b. 1945) at the School of Art's Tessa Sidey Gallery, Aberystwyth University (22 May-29 September 2023). What really worked for me was the counterpoint between the sensuous beauty of Hanselaar's masterful printmaking technique and the dystopic horrors of her subject matter. Not exactly 'abandon all hope ye who enter here', but close. Utterly compelling and a must-see.
